Wellspring Nurse Source is seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team.
Job Summary
The ideal candidate will provide critical care and therapeutic respiratory services to patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. This role involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess, treat, and educate patients of all ages, ensuring optimal respiratory health and recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions through diagnostic tests and physical examinations.
- Administer therapeutic treatments such as oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy, and ventilator support.
- Monitor and manage patients on mechanical ventilation, adjusting settings as needed to ensure proper oxygenation and ventilation.
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and analysis to evaluate oxygen, carbon dioxide, and pH levels.
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and equipment usage, such as inhalers or CPAP machines.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide emergency care, including airway management, intubation assistance, and resuscitation during critical situations.
- Maintain and operate advanced respiratory care equipment, ensuring its cleanliness and functionality.
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and progress accurately in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay updated on advancements in respiratory care techniques and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (PALS or NRP preferred for pediatric/neonatal care).
- Strong clinical and technical skills in respiratory care management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced healthcare environment.
