Description :
The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers.
They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care.
They practice in a clinical environment supported through a shared governance model and evidence-based practice.
RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the core values of the organization.
All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the relevant professional practice acts.
The RN implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards established by nursing associations.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions :
Performs the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Provides relationship-based, patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics.
Partners with patients and significant others using appropriate methods for setting and purpose.
Practices using current clinical practice standards.
Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care while promoting a diverse and inclusive environment.
Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration in a fiscally responsible manner.
Participates in performance improvement, research, and promotes safe, quality patient care.
Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required education.
Serves as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses and staff.
Promotes evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement.
Participates in data collection and poses relevant clinical questions for advanced practice.
Proactively plans for the care of patients across the care continuum.
Participates in the development of protocols and procedures.
Supports efficient and effective use of human and material resources.
Performs other duties as assigned.
