Job Summary:
Functions under the direction of Community Resource Nurse Manager. The Lifestyle instructor is responsible for teaching, presenting and/or executing a variety of community classes, programs and services. Programs focus on the strategic domains as identified in the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA).Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Program Execution * Provide high-quality instruction to community members on health related topics at events. * Stay up-to-date with current issues and/or research affecting designated program. * Follow established policies, procedures, guidelines and curriculum developed by Wellstar Community Benefit * Serve as event team leader when assigned. The assigned team leader serves as the point person for the external site coordinator and the WellStar PRN team for the duration of the event. The team leader is responsible for leading execution of on-site and post-event logistics, troubleshooting any issues or incidents and following up as appropriate with supervisor. Equipment Utilization * Properly utilize equipment and materials given to teach programs and execute services. * Transport equipment and supplies to designated program site. Other * Staff special events as needed to assist in meeting department goals. * Complete annual employment requirements to include updating certifications, annual competency assessments, other educational and/or training requirements and employee health physical. Scheduling * Communicate with leader regarding schedule availability and schedule confirmation. Regulatory and Compliance Management * Assist in maintaining compliance to a variety of regulatory agencies. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.Required Minimum Education:
High school diploma (or GED certificate) Required or additional training/certifications depending on program or services provided Required and health promotion, nutrition, fitness, health-related or nursing degree. PreferredRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.- Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor

If performing blood draws or flu vaccines, phlebotomy training and experience Upon Hire RequiredRequired Minimum Experience:
Minimum 1 year experience in related field and/or teaching experience related to health and wellness topics PreferredRequired Minimum Skills:
Needs high commitment to customer service, display strong motivation for community outreach and working with adults and children. Needs a strong speaking voice and excellent motivational, organizational and communication skills. Must display commitment to a healthy lifestyle.
