The Clinical Lab Scientist Trainee performs all aspects of pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of the laboratory as defined by CLIA. Independently performs laboratory testing on patients of all ages using professional knowledge of laboratory procedures in an accurate and timely manner. Follows all laboratory and hospital policies and procedures including, but not limited to, general processes, safety, fire, disaster plans, infection control, and quality.
Position Requirements: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization. Must be actively enrolled or has participated in an accredited MLS/CLS program or other equivalent program with the appropriate education requirements as defined by GA Rule 290-9-8 for clinical laboratory technologist. If not currently enrolled in MLS/CLS program, Bachelor's degree and 1 year or more of experience in a lab is required. Extensive organizational skills. Basic computer knowledge.
