Job Summary:
The primary role of the IT Senior Project Manager is to oversee the development, management and implementation of initiatives as directed by leadership. The Senior Project Manager will work with organization leaders and team members to develop and manage projects and project plans. The primary responsibility of the Senior Project Manager is to hold the project stakeholders (clients) accountable in delivering projects on time and within scope/budget and assist in problem solving and issue resolution. Senior Project Managers will lead multiple project workstreams for multiple clients, small engagement teams or components of large, complex engagements. They are responsible for project execution & delivery, governance, prioritization, resource planning, execution tools, training, and monthly reporting as they apply to assigned projects and new/improved processes. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the supervision of assigned IT resources and staff through the completion of the project or initiative. This role includes both administrative (organizational) and strategic (consultative) responsibilities for managing projects/initiatives. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be asked to provide leadership to a variety of challenging roles, make significant contributions in a relatively short time, take responsibility for the way you manage your time, develop your skill set, and deliver creative, compelling insights to the client and assist in problem solving and issue resolution. They will also be responsible for guiding and mentoring Technical Project Coordinators and entry level Project managers.Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
1. Provide administrative and tactical management of projects from beginning to end through all administrative processes and tools available a. Define scope, goals and deliverables and manage changes in project scope throughout the duration of the project b. Estimate resources and participants needed to achieve project goals, including management of vendors or consultant resources c. Develop project plans and associated communications documents d. Responsible for thoroughly understanding and communicating stakeholder requirements to appropriate team members, and managing all requirements accordingly e. Establish clear ownership for project tasks, and ensure that team members have the tools needed, and provide timely feedback f. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel g. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team h. Track progress and review project tasks to assign accountability to make certain deadlines are met appropriately i. Ensure projects are completed on time and within scope j. Arrange training as needed 2. Provide advisory and consultative skills to project needs and initiatives. a. Schedule and host regular status meetings with all stakeholders, keeping the stakeholders needs and requirements continuously in view b. Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work c. Identify potential crises and devise contingency plans d. Build, develop and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project e. Assist in other operational and improvement and implementation projects, as required 3. Deliverable development and procurement a. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations b. Lead or help to create needed deliverable documents as assigned by project leadership i. These may include draft RFPs, job descriptions, policies and procedures, presentations, story boards, organizational charts, etc c. Facilitate policies and procedures during the project needed to meet deliverables (contract facilitation/management) 4. Provide Mentoring and guidance for Technical Project Coordinators and entry level Project managers a. Assess the needs of TPCs and new PM as assigned by leadership b. Provide, by direct training or example Project Management methodology as defined by Wellstar c. Provide assessments for the above to Leadership as requested. BS or BA Degree Required and Bachelor's Degree in industrial/management engineering PreferredRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

PMP certified Upon Hire PreferredRequired Minimum Experience:
7-10 years in a project manager role including 2-3 years supervisory experience with experience in a health care system environment Preferred Consulting experience a plus Preferred The role must be knowledgeable about project management techniques and tools. Required Ability to facilitate and also apply critical thinking skills to resolve issues or problems is important. Required Superior critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Applying only a tactical approach to project management will not be successful in this role.
