Are you an experienced rehabilitation professional with a passion for leadership and patient care? We’re seeking a dynamic Clinical Supervisor to oversee and coordinate services within our Outpatient Rehabilitation Center or Inpatient Acute Care Therapies department. This role combines hands-on patient care with leadership responsibilities, ensuring clinical excellence, staff development, and operational efficiency.
As a Clinical Supervisor, you’ll lead by example, enforce clinical standards, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver outstanding, patient-centered care. You’ll be instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, meeting regulatory requirements, and driving the achievement of organizational goals while maintaining a direct patient care caseload.
Core Responsibilities:
Patient Care and Clinical Leadership:
- Deliver direct patient care, maintaining an average caseload of 60% while coordinating team efforts for optimal outcomes.
- Foster a safe, therapeutic environment, incorporating the latest clinical and technological advances in rehabilitative care.
- Assess trends, implement improvements, and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with leadership, physicians, and staff to adapt patient care processes to evolving needs and ensure high-quality services.
- Support discharge planning and patient education to provide cost-effective care in the most appropriate settings.
Customer and Employee Engagement:
- Create a positive environment for patients, families, and staff by addressing inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Act as a liaison between staff, physicians, and administration to build a culture of collaboration and trust.
- Promote teamwork and employee morale through positive feedback, recognition, and a commitment to team success.
- Partner with leadership to set measurable team goals and communicate progress effectively.
Human Resources and Staff Development:
- Assist in recruiting and onboarding qualified staff to ensure competent and adequate coverage.
- Monitor, evaluate, and document staff performance, providing regular feedback and coaching.
- Support junior leaders in maintaining staff competency and adherence to standards of practice and documentation.
- Encourage continuous learning by recommending and facilitating participation in required and elective educational opportunities.
Financial Accountability:
- Collaborate with the Director on budgeting, productivity measures, and cost management to meet financial goals.
- Analyze data to identify and address budget variances, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Support the development of strategies that balance quality care with cost-effectiveness across the continuum of rehabilitative services.
Regulatory Compliance and Accreditation:
- Ensure adherence to professional and regulatory standards, including JCAHO and CARF requirements, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Monitor staff compliance with policies and procedures, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Other Duties:
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned, maintaining alignment with organizational policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or Physical Therapy OR Doctorate in Physical Therapy required.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, or Speech-Language Pathologist required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical leadership experience required.
- 1 year of experience with advanced certification in outpatient orthopedic/neuro rehabilitation or acute inpatient care, demonstrating:
- Ability to carry a full, industry-standard caseload.
- Proven ability to meet clinic metrics and deliver excellent clinical outcomes.
