Responsibilities
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop analytic strategies to assess the quality and safety ofcare, and associated activities for the Outpatient Clinical Documentation Improvement Department,provided at WellStar Health System. Pulls data from multiple sources and produces reports related toOutpatient CDI, quality, safety, throughput, access, and value on both a recurring and ad hoc basis, tomeet needs of a diverse set of customers; Uses statistical and/or data management software packages toclean and analyze data, create new metrics, and use that information to tell a meaningful story. Serves asthe liaison between Outpatient and IT regarding the Outpatient CDI applications, including but not limited toissue and enhancement activities and upgrades
Qualifications
Required Minimum Education: Associate Degree in Informatics, Nursing, HIM, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics,Information Systems, Public Health, Business Administration, Data Science, Analytics, or related field. PreferredBachelor’s DegreeRequired Minimum Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience with data analytics, modelling, and reportdevelopment; any combination of education/advanced degree and relevant experience will be considered in lieu ofthe required experience. Proficiency in Outpatient Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) or coding preferred;Ideally has experience with common Business Intelligence and Data Visualization tools; advanced knowledge ofExcel preferred; strong mathematical background. Preferred - advanced knowledge of at least one of the followingareas: statistical modelling (e.g. regression techniques), data mining, econometrics; strong technical writing andpresentation skills; and demonstrated experience of presenting findings and interpreting analyses.Required Minimum Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia or hold aprivilege to practice in the State of Georgia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).Required Minimum Skills: High level of written communication skills necessary to establish rapport with physicians,other Team members, coding team and all other customers as applicable. Excellent time management, training, andpeer development skills. High level of motivational and interpersonal skills. Strong written and verbal communicationskills, decision-making and analytical skills, advanced computer skills and ability to work well under pressureindividually and as part of a team. Chart review experience required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience and stronginterest in healthcare data; experience creating Statistical Process Control charts; experience with manipulating largedatasets; and relevant training or certifications. Minimum MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)knowledge and expertise. EPIC Electronic Medical Record and CDI Software experience is preferred. Regulatorybackground, HCC & RAF impact knowledge and strong understanding of coding methodologies and guidelinespreferred.Computer/data entry experience. Ability to communicate with various members of the healthcare team. Ability to useEXCEL, Word and have basic computer operational knowledge. Epic and 3M experience preferred.
