Job Summary:
Provides the transportation of patients/clients to and from hospitals, convalescent facilities, dialysis centers, rehabilitation centers, medical offices and their private residences in a safe, secure and professional manner. A Wheelchair Transportation Driver provides safe and efficient non-emergency transportation for disabled, handicapped or elderly persons from Wellstar facilities to their destinations. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Transports patients and clients utilizing company vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
Communicates with dispatch regarding schedule progress and to receive instructions.
Maintains a professional image and attitude in regards to clients, visitors and coworkers.
Completes daily vehicle pretrip and post trip inspections, and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
Assists clients and patients as needed to safely complete the transfer.
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Minimum Education:
High school diploma Required
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
- Valid Georgia Driver's License
Additional License(s) and Certification(s):
BLS - AHA within 30 Days Required
Required Minimum Experience:
1 year experience as a driver, EMT, or related role. No more than 1 moving violation or 1 at fault accident within the past 3 years Required
Required Minimum Skills:
Must understand instructions in English (both written and spoken). High
