Description :
The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care providers who ensure individualized high quality, safe patient care.
They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders supported through a Shared Governance Model.
The framework for practice is guided by a Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice and research.
RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by healthcare values.
RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Professional Nurse Practice Act.
They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards established by the American Nurses Association.
As a member of the patient services team, they uphold the voice of the patient, system policies, and procedures while supporting service excellence goals.
They perform the Nursing Process in clinical care using evidence-based practice, analytical thinking, and ensuring individualized care.
They provide relationship-based patient-centered care, adapting service delivery for cultural diversity and population-specific characteristics.
They partner with patients and significant others using appropriate methods such as bedside shift reports and interdisciplinary rounds.
They practice using current clinical practice standards and coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care.
They demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and promoting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
They participate in performance improvement, research, and shared governance to promote safe, quality patient care.
They complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education.
They serve as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses and staff or students in all disciplines.
They promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing.
They uphold all healthcare system policies and procedures and clinical competencies, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.

Additional Note :
