Wellstone is North Alabama's most comprehensive behavioral health care provider serving over 13,000 persons a year in Huntsville and Cullman. We are a non-profit community organization that offers a wide range of services for every phase of life, from children to older adults. Our Cullman office is looking for a CRNP with the ability to see adults and children.
The CRNP in our Cullman location work in the clinic. This candidate will work independently as well as in conjunction with the treatment team, and is responsible for evaluating patients health status based on information provided, and medical histories to establish care and treatment plans as needed. Full-Time, First Shift.
Position Title: Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner
What we are looking for:
- Master’s of Nursing and licensed as RN and CRNP in Alabama
- Clinical Specialty in the appropriate area of practice
- Mental Health Experience
- Familiar with Computers
- Ability to type notes/information into the Electronic Health Record
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
What you"ll be doing:
- Adheres to the Center’s philosophy of care, professional ethics and other standards of policies and procedures
- Evaluate mental health status of clients through psychiatric assessments and focused medical assessments.
- Formulate diagnosis
- Develop and implement an intervention that could include therapy, medication and referral to community resources as appropriate for the patient’s condition.
- Prescribe medication as directed indicated for treatment
- Orders lab tests as appropriate and/or necessary.
- Counsel, teach and assist individuals and families to assume responsibility for self-care in prevention of illness, health maintenance and health restoration.
- Consult with and refer to other health care providers as appropriate.
- Institute emergency measures and emergency treatment or appropriate stabilization measures.
- Perform follow up and medication monitoring on existing clients.
- Answer questions, provide education and understanding of medication side effects.
- Will compile information and input accurate and concise information into the Electronic Medical Record (Netscape My Avatar System) in a timely fashion.
- Follow standard Certified Nurse Practitioner protocol and the standard formulary outlined by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Maintain licensure and training requirements of WellStone Behavioral Health
- Perform other duties as indicated by the Medical Director, Division Director, Chief Clinical Officer and/or Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer.
