WellStone is North Alabama's most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider serving over 13,000 persons annually throughout Northern Alabama, with offices in Huntsville and Cullman. We are a non-profit community organization that offers a wide range of services for every phase of life, from children to older adults.
As a pediatric Psychologist for Madison Behavior Therapy (MBT) you will join our “Dreamteam” family in carrying out our values everyday through the way we treat each other and our clients. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with clinicians and families to provide trauma-informed care in applied behavior analysis. This position is full-time, 1st shift.
Qualifications:
- Current Alabama State Licensed Psychologist
- Training/Study in accordance with APA definition of Psychologist Title
- 5 years Clinical Experience
- Effective Oral and Written Communication Skills
- Computer Knowledge
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions.
- Conduct psychological assessments.
- Conduct commitment crisis intervention and collaborate with other professionals/agencies who are internal or external of the Mental Health Center for purposes of continuity of care, coordination of treatment, etc.
- Conduct intake assessments, prepare required documentation regarding initial session.
- Preparing clinical documentation of all sessions per Center guidelines, provider guidelines and as needed in a timely manner, i.e. OTR’s, discharge summaries, treatment plans, progress notes, etc.
- Execute follow-up activities regarding client cancelling or missing an appointment.
- Provide clinical consultation at the request of Division Coordinators or the Clinical Director per Center need.
- In the absence of the Clinical Director, assess the need for exceptions to our service payment policy and authorize continuation of services if warranted.
- Decide treatment modality in which assigned client will receive services (i.e. individual, group or medication maintenance).
