What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substance Use Disorder Treatment Therapist position at Wellstone Brand?
WellStone is North Alabama's most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider serving over 13,000 persons annually throughout Northern Alabama, with offices in Huntsville and Cullman. We are a non-profit community organization that offers a wide range of services for every phase of life, from children to older adults.
The Substance Use Disorder Treatment Therapist will work Monday through Friday full-time, seeing clients who struggle with substance use disorder to assist them in recovery from substance abuse and co-occurring disorders through counseling, education, role modeling, and empathetic support.
What we're looking for -
- Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field with an internship/practicum
- Ability to perform group instruction & activities
- Good organizational & documentation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and referral sources
- Proficient writing skills
- DSM V knowledge
- Knowledge of community agencies
- Experience preferred working with the seriously mentally ill
- Effective planning skills
- Knowledge of various clinical interventions to treat substance use disorders and mental illness
What you'll be doing -
- Plan, manage, and direct client caseload as well as individual treatment of clients
- Provide clinical documentation which is accurate, timely, and in accordance with all regulatory standards
- Maintain clinical records to comply with all applicable standards
- Provide Crisis Intervention and Resolution services as needed
- Provide consultation to individuals (s) and group (s) regarding substance use disorders and mental health treatment
- Know and follow established program policies and procedures
- Exhibit proper attitude and work ethic as established by Program Director and Center standards
- Meet productivity standards as defined by the Center
- Other duties as assigned by Division Director
