Job Description:
The consultant is responsible to target acute referral cases to identify problem behavior utilizing empirical based collection of data to identify variables contributed to the problematic behavior and implementing strategies to achieve behavior change. Supervisors typically hold a Master Degree in a related field and are BCBA certified.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education OR a related field
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis
- BACB Board Certification in good standing
- Licensed Behavior Analyst in the State of Alabama
- Completion of 8-hour Supervisor Course
Experience:
- Requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis working with children
- Experience managing up to 20 RBT’s
- Experience training families
- Writing and adjusting skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs
- Conducting Functional Analyses in a Clinical Setting
- Conducting common ABA assessments (ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP, PEAK, etc.)
What you'll be doing:
- Assess client’s needs
- Conduct a functional behavior assessment
- Identify if a functional assessment is required
- Transmit analysis via a formal report documenting assessment tools utilized and develop a behavior intervention strategy/recommendations
- Identify appropriate Skill Acquisition Assessments to be conducted
- Create and write both skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols. This may include using the Autism Curriculum Encyclopedia when appropriate
- Create and update ReThink and provide materials needed for notebooks (i.e. data summary sheets, set sheets, etc.)
- Train professionals/clients involved in the case
- Conduct Parent Training Sessions
- Review graphing and notebooks and provide appropriate feedback
- Provide weekly supervision to RBT’s for each client
- Write progress reports and Treatment Plans as scheduled
- Conduct appropriate assessments every 3 months unless otherwise directed by the Clinical Director
- If working in the Clinic the BCBA consultant should follow and maintain programming according to the structure of the Clinic
- If working outside of the Clinic or in the School setting the BCBA Consultant to collaborate with other professionals accordingly, while upholding the highest clinical and professional standards in Applied Behavior Analysis
- Conduct appropriate assessments every 3 months unless otherwise directed by the Clinical Director
- Coordinate with professionals on the case
- Offer support service/follow up
- Review all programming and treatment planning with the Director before implementation
- Uphold standards of Behavioral Health Center of Excellence
- Practice within the guidelines of the BACB Code of Ethics
- Other duties that may be offered and agreed to: Workshops and/or Trainings on specific topics in Applied Behavior Analysis, School Trainings, Parent Training, or other duties that are related to the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and are mutually agreed to by both parties before implementation
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to be on feet up to 80% of shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Trainings:
- CPR
- 8- hour Supervisor Course Required by BACB
- Pass background checks
