What are the responsibilities and job description for the Children's Outpatient Therapist position at WellStone?
WellStone is North Alabama's most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider serving over 13,000 persons a year in Huntsville, Cullman and Decatur. We are a non-profit community organization that offers a wide range of services for every phase of life, from children to older adults.
We are hiring for a Children's Therapist.
What We're Looking For :
Master's Degree in social services with practicum required
License (LPC, LICSW, LMFT) preferred
Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
Prefer at least one year working with serious emotionally disturbed (SED) children
Computer Literacy
What You'll Be Doing :
Conduct individual, group and / or family therapy to child, adolescent population ages three to eighteen
Perform initial assessments, intakes and prepare documentation of such for client Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Prepare with client a treatment plan to include goals
Obtain certification in the CANS System
Conduct CANS Assessments
Document progress of client to goals as outlined in the Treatment plan
Present cases to psychiatrists regarding client's medicine
Work closely with Case Manager & guardians regarding client's needs
Provide Crisis Intervention as needed
Participate in various meetings to include departmental, divisional or other meetings as required by the Director, Chief Clinical Officer or Chief Executive Officer.
Complete billing documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
Conduct follow-up with clients
Maintain educational requirements regarding licensure, Department of Mental Health State Standards
May perform outreach in the school system
