Job Title: Medical Assistant
Reports To: Practice Manager
Job Summary: At WelsCare, we view wound care as an opportunity to heal, not a barrier in care. As a medical assistant, you will be performing a variety of clinical and administrative tasks. You will be seeing patients in different locations and assist providers in delivering appropriate care. Locations range from home, facility, and clinic visits. Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to):
· Taking medical histories
· Explaining treatment options to patients
· Preparing patients for examinations
· Assisting providers during examinations
· Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
· Transmitting prescriptions as directed
· Instructed wound care and dressing changes
· Coordinate care with instructed care team
· Instrument sterilization
· Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to):
· Using computer applications
· Answering telephones
· Arranging requested referrals, imaging, etc.
· Scheduling appointments
· Maintaining medical records
· Supply stocking

Job Qualifications:
· Education: High School Diploma or equivalent substitute
· Certifications and/or Licenses:
o Certification as a nurse assistant (CNA) or medical assistant (CMA) preferred

Work Environment:
· This job operates at multiple clinical and non-clinical locations, varying by clinician’s schedules
· Driving to and from visits will be required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
