What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Intern - Summer 2025 position at Welser Profile North America?
Provided Training & Mentorship:
- Assigned an onboarding buddy, mentor, and trainer
- OSHA 10: A ten-hour course in general industry safety and health hazard recognition and prevention approved by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the United States Department of l-Labor;
- Instructions on how to operate the specific tools;
- Review of safety and health hazards in the workplace;
- Opportunity for FT employment post-graduation;
- Continuous education opportunities on-the-job and paid for training and schooling (state-certified apprenticeship programs).
Hours and Schedule: Minimum 15hrs/week
- Hours are flexible based on the individual's school schedule.
What Skills Will You Learn?
Under the guidance and supervision of an experienced maintenance technician:
- Working with Power Tools
- Mechanical Maintenance Skills
- Welding & Fabrication Skills
- Carpentry skills
- Basic Electrical Skills
- Basic Controls Skills
- Exposure to a variety of equipment in a metal forming manufacturing setting.
Physical Requirements
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud; hearing protection is provided and required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, coolant, or airborne particles and will work near moving mechanical parts.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to perform excessive walking, standing, bending, climbing, reaching, grasping, and lifting.
- Ability to visually inspect parts and use of hands to use measuring gauges.
- Ability to run machines and equipment safely and efficiently.
