Welty Energy, an affiliate of Welty, is a professional energy services company specializing in program and project management, transmission line engineering, substation engineering and construction oversight on transmission, substation and distribution projects ranging in voltages from 4kV to 765kV.
As such Welty Energy is looking for aâ¯Senior Transmission Line Engineerâ¯to join our team!â¯As a Senior Transmission Line Engineer, you will lead the technical review process for our client(s)’s transmission line projects ensuring compliance is met in line with client standards and expectations.
While this position is primarily remote we do ask that candidates reside in Pittsburgh, PA or in and around the New England area due to client expectations.
Role and Responsibilities:â¯
- Technical review of high voltage transmission line designs (34kV – 500kV).
- Perform analysis/modeling of wood, steel, and lattice structures.
- Prepare construction plan documents as required per project.
- Mentor and assist in the professional development of junior engineering staff.
- Provide technical assistance to the Welty Energy Project Management Team.
- Take a lead role in growing the Welty Energy Transmission Line Engineering team.
- Perform site visits when necessary.
- Interface with client’s engineering groups and project management team to provide regular and timely updates.
- Consult on internal projects when requested by the PM, Portfolio Manager, or Executive Vice President.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering at an ABET accredited university is preferred.
- We will accept a Bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical, environmental, architectural, structural or similar technical field.
- 10 years of experience as a Transmission Line Engineer well versed in design engineering of high voltage transmission lines(34kV – 500kV).
- PE license advantageousâ¯
- Comfortable with Travel:â¯15-20% travel (project specific)
