Substation Project Engineer

• Roles: 

• As a Substation Project Engineer, provide engineering oversight on client substation projects. 
• As a Substation Project Engineer, represent the client and provide best-in-class service 
• As a Substation Project Engineer, you will be involved with consulting on select projects where your expertise and guidance is requested. 
• As a Substation Project Engineer, provide technical assistance to the Welty Project Management Team as requested. 

• Responsibilities: 

• Represent client on substation projects and technical matters relating to assigned projects 
• Perform quality reviews on client substation projects designed by contracted engineering firms, focusing on one-line and three-line diagrams, AC and DC schematics, communication schemes, physical drawings, and perform spot-check on wiring diagrams 
• Verify projects are following all applicable client standards 
• Provide guidance to engineering firms on projects 
• Perform site visits when necessary 
• Interface with client’s engineering groups and project management team to provide regular and timely updates 
• Consult on internal projects when requested by the PM, Portfolio Manager, or Executive Vice President

• Any need for meetings should be determined by the appropriate Project Engineering Lead and Executive Vice President. 
• Share knowledge and train oncoming Project Engineers. 
• Establish trust and healthy rapport with client and contract engineer firms.  

• Collaborate with Management Team to foster a productive and encouraging environment. 
• Timesheet entries and expenses to be appropriately applied to corresponding projects and should be submitted weekly. 

• Education/Experience: 

• Minimum 

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at an ABET accredited university 
• 3-5 years of experience as a Substation Engineer 
• EIT Certification with the intention to pursue PE license

• 5-10% travel (project specific)
