Wendell Foster is interested in hiring an energetic (PRN) Phlebotomist for our Nursing Department to join the team of #DifferenceMakers!

What matters to us:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- National certification (e.g., PBT (ASCP), CPT, or equivalent) required.
- Possess, or be able to possess, required first aid and CPR certifications (training provided).
- Possess a valid driver’s license, an insurable driving record, and the ability to drive facility vehicles.
- Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Technician Program preferred.
- Previous experience in phlebotomy or a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Experience working with elderly populations or in long-term care facilities is a plus.
Essential Functions:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws for ICF residents, ensuring proper technique to minimize discomfort and reduce the risk of complications.
- Ensure accurate identification of residents and specimens to prevent errors in testing and treatment.
- Collect specimens for a variety of tests as directed by physician’s orders.
- Engage with residents in a professional, compassionate manner to reduce anxiety before, during, and after the procedure.
- Monitor residents for any signs of discomfort or complications and report any adverse reactions promptly to the Nurse on Duty (NOD).
- Accurately label and document specimens, ensuring that all necessary patient information is recorded correctly.
