The Position?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our growing property management company in Orlando, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting with a focus on property management or real estate operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial operations across multiple properties, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting the financial health of the organization. This is an on-site role, in our corporate office located in Altamonte Springs, Florida, and will report to the Vice President of Accounting & Finance.
What will be your key responsibilities as a Staff Accountant?
- Oversee daily accounting functions including accounts payable and bank reconciliations for property management operations.
- Prepare and maintain financial reports for multiple properties, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
- Prepare and manage budgets for each property and assist community managers in monitoring financial performance.
- Assist with training and ensuring community managers and assistant community managers have a solid understanding of accounting processes.
- Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
- Analyze financial data, including income and expense statements, to ensure budget compliance and recommend adjustments where necessary.
- Assist with financial audits, prepare required documentation, and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Maintain compliance with property management laws and regulations related to financial reporting.

What qualifications do you need to have for this job?
- 2 years of accounting experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and property management regulations.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred
- Property management or real estate experience.
- Familiarity with property management software is a plus.
