Employee Relations Specialist

Overview:
The Employee Relations Specialist will manage the investigation process from initial submission, investigation completion, employee engagement, field partnership, and investigation conclusion. The Employee Relations Specialist will also be responsible for state audit requests, demand letter documentation, and partial employer submission responses. The Employee Relations Specialist will help create and reassess the current investigation process, streamline the process flow, and recommend process improvement for the employee experience, field partnership, HR managing team oversight partnership, and overall proactiveness to minimize company risk and increase employee engagement and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the intake of all employee concerns, complaints, and state audits.
- Assess the nature of the employee complaint and work with the field leaders on work-related issues or complete a full investigation.
- Update field management on the investigation status, field support, employee status, and estimated deadline.
- Complete a full investigation including all aspects by the designated deadline.
- Partner with field management of progressive discipline, post-investigation training, and general guidance to managers and supervisors on company policy and state law.
- Responsible for completing the investigation report with all facts of the investigation, exhibits, and investigation conclusion.
- Manage the investigation case files and all documentation.
- Update the investigation tracker on investigation activity and document case activity.
- Draft all state audit responses including documents, email responses, and additional follow-up items for the HR Management's review before submission.
- Compile all investigation or state audit items in the HRIS systems according to the investigation or audit requests.
- Partner with HR Management or Legal if needed on case details.
- Identify investigation trends by market and recommend market strategies related to the type of incidents.
- Partner with or lead various types of training topics to educate, build awareness, build leadership capabilities, or meet state compliance requirements.
- Other responsibilities as needed relevant to employee relations.
Employee Engagement:
- Contact employees to confirm receipt of the employee complaint.
- Partner with field leadership on scheduling interviews with all participating employees.
- Ability to communicate with multi-level team members and management on investigation status and investigation conclusion.
- Create a positive experience for all employees participating in the investigation through two-way communication, patience, and openness to understand the details of the incident.
- Responsible for keeping the complainant updated on the status to confirm the investigation is being completed internally and resolution will be based on company policy and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Led and managed various types of employee complaints, both external and internal investigations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; bi-lingual preferred but not required.
- High attention to detail, time management, deadline-oriented, ability to work with limited supervision.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint)
- Bachelors in general business, human resources, or other
