Who We Are
HAZA Foods is one of the largest privately-owned restaurant franchise groups in the U.S., operating Wendy's and Taco Bell locations across multiple states. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a business-minded General Counsel to support our legal operations, with a focus on labor law, contracts, visas, and corporate compliance.
What You'll Do
As a Paralegal at HAZA Foods, you'll assist with legal operations and documentation to support compliance, labor law, and business contracts. You'll collaborate with internal teams including HR and Operations, and support external legal counsel as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Support & Documentation
- Prepare, organize, and maintain legal documents including contracts, employment agreements, separation agreements, and policy updates.
- Assist in drafting responses to legal inquiries, regulatory filings, and compliance documentation.
- Support the preparation of legal filings and case-related documentation for labor and employment disputes.
- Manage legal databases and document tracking systems.
Contracts & Business Operations
- Assist in the review and tracking of commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and franchise documents.
- Support the contract approval process, ensuring documents are properly vetted and stored.
- Maintain communication with departments to ensure contract terms are followed and updated as needed.
Employment Law & Compliance
- Work closely with HR to support legal compliance with wage & hour regulations, workplace policies, and employee-related matters.
- Help track and manage visa documentation and employment eligibility files for international hires.
- Assist with internal audits, investigations, and EEOC documentation tracking.
What We're Looking For
- Associate or bachelor's degree; Paralegal certification preferred.
- 3 years of paralegal or legal assistant experience, ideally in employment law or corporate law.
- Experience supporting legal counsel in a corporate or law firm environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Experience in the restaurant, franchise, or hospitality industry is a plus.
