Job Title: Senior Process Engineer (Powdered Materials)
Location: Kellyton, Alabama
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join their team in Kellyton, Alabama. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the design, optimization, and scale-up of manufacturing processes involving powdered materials such as graphite, black mass, silicon, tungsten etc.
- Work cross-functionally with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and drive innovation.
- Analyze production data and conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve process inefficiencies or issues.
- Develop process control strategies, design process flow diagrams, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and other team members.
- Continuously monitor industry trends and advancements in material processing technologies.
- Manage and support the implementation of process improvements, cost reductions, and waste minimization initiatives.
- Lead process validation and troubleshooting efforts during new product introductions and scaling operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering with a focus on powdered materials such as graphite, black mass, silicon, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of process design, control, and optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with manufacturing systems, statistical process control, and data analysis.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen, COMSOL) is preferred.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
