Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee mining and aggregate production at a facility in Colorado Springs, CO. This onsite leadership role is responsible for directing and optimizing daily plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aggregate mining, plant operations, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Plan, direct, and coordinate mining operations to produce high-quality, cost-effective products that meet sales demand.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve plant efficiency, equipment utilization, and productivity.
- Inventory & Production Planning: Maintain proper inventory levels to ensure consistent supply and support sales goals.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety policies, oversee MSHA inspections, and ensure environmental and permit compliance.
- Team Management: Supervise plant personnel, including foremen, operators, and laborers, fostering a culture of accountability and safety.
- Equipment & Maintenance Oversight: Schedule production and preventative maintenance routines to maximize plant uptime.
- Customer & Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with the Quality Control, Maintenance, and Finance teams to ensure product excellence and operational efficiency.
- Problem-Solving: Address production challenges and implement solutions that enhance plant performance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Management, or equivalent experience (5 years).
- Experience: 3-5 years in aggregate mining, plant operations, or related raw materials production.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with plant equipment, including crushers, screens, washing systems, and material handling.
- Leadership Skills: Strong team management, delegation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Compliance & Safety: Understanding of MSHA regulations and safety protocols.
- Technology Proficiency: Experience with SAP or similar production management software is a plus.

- 401(k) match: Dollar-for-dollar on the first 3%, plus 50% match on the next 3%.
