What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovering after the ReStore fire with volunteer help position at WENY News?
CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) - Volunteers were busy today cleaning out the damaged half of the Habitat for Humanity ReStore and deciding what was usable after the fire. Several volunteers expressed the importance of helping an organization that does so much for the Steuben County community.
“This is important. We have to get this up and running again to help people. that's why I'm here,” said Bill Howells, a volunteer.

The ReStore parking lot was full for the first time in several weeks today. About twenty volunteers were working hard to clean out the burned ReStore building.
“They're helping us to salvage what we can and get ready for us to demo the destroyed part of the building, and to get the rest of the smoke damage taken care of,” said Joy Overacker, community outreach director for the Steuben County Habitat for Humanity.
This was the second round of volunteers to give their time to the Steuben County Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Jobs included removing debris, cleaning smoke damaged items, and getting the place organized.
The fate of the ReStore depends on volunteers and donations. The burned remains of the store maybe be at the front of everyone's minds now, but some volunteers think there could be a bright future ahead.
“Thats one of the great things about habitat and the ReStore is that you're always working with volunteers and people from the community, and it's a great place to meet people. It's great to see this outpouring of support for a pretty sad time for the organization, but there's a lot of positive energy and I really think it's going to help us pull through, and like I said come out better on the other side,” said Scott Sayre, another volunteer.
