Nature and Scope

We are seeking a safety and compliance specialist that is result driven, with a can-do attitude who will work with management and operations to improve adherence to compliance and to ensure that risk of loss or damage are reduced. The ideal candidate will have the ability to learn quickly in a fast pace and detail-oriented environment. The candidate must possess strong attention to detail, work independently as well as in a team environment, and adhere to critical deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position will work very close to operations and support all areas of compliance including but not limited to special projects.
- Quarterly Boat exams
- Monthly Management Walk throughs
- Support Management during internal and external Audits
- Survey Program Prep (member would not conduct audits, surveys, or SIRE exams, but they would prep the boats prior to activity)
- Install new computers/WiFi aboard vessels as needed
- Facilitate minor repairs in Shipyard and on vessels
- Lead Shipyard Competent Person
- Assist with Fire, safety, and lifesaving equipment ashore and on vessels
- Assist with ensuring vessels have required safety equipment
- Assist with Bilge Oil Transfer for company vessels
- Assist with deckhand compliance training
- Assist with Environmental compliance
Administration
- Keeping Sinex up to date
- Enter deficiencies into Sinex
- Coordinate Fire Protection Program for Wepfer Marine
- Work with Vendor sourcing proper signage and minor repairs
- Liaison for Mechanics as it relates to Compliance (external and internal)
- Monitor email for Compliance related issues
- Keeping proper inventory and supply of required safety equipment
- Assist Dir of Harbor Ops as needed
- Scan and enter documents as needed

Qualifications
- Must pass a TSA background check
- Valid drivers license
- Management Experience
- Experience in the Maritime Industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office

- Degree Preferred in related field
Working conditions
This is primarily in an office environment, in an industrial setting and may require infrequent work on weekends, evenings, and holidays, depending on business needs.
Physical requirements
The physical work demand for this position is classified as medium duty/office work.
