Essential Functions
- Formulate, process and analyze blends according to schedule; ensure timely release of quality product to stock to avoid backorder; meet unscheduled peaks as necessary
- Compile and analyze test information as needed
- Ensure proper reporting and compliant documentation of lot controlled ingredients (on batch records, ERP system, etc.); provide relevant data and prepare reports as needed
- Drive the formulation and process of newly developed tests and manufacturing procedures; revise existing products as needed
- Provide advanced support for the transfer of product to routine manufacturing
- Coordinate corrective action for technical problems related to raw materials, finished products; minimize rejects and field complaints
- Evaluate new technologies-- provide implement or recommend improvement initiatives
- Assist with critical incoming raw materials and in-process procedures and specifications
- Confer with functional and cross-functional counterparts as necessary to ensure efficient quality formulations
- Participate in corrective and preventive actions-- identify issues and implement or recommend corrective action as necessary
- Adhere to related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality system requirements, safety standards, and regulations
- Participate in continual improvement activities throughout the Manufacturing function to enhance processes, products and standards

- Bachelors degree (Chemistry) or equivalent, with a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years related previous experience, preferably within a regulated medical device or pharmaceutical environment, required
- Must possess detailed knowledge of chemistry and related scientific principles
- Must be able to implement proper techniques and to modify and/or extend theory and practices
- Good writing and documentation, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills are essential
- Computer literacy required; knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with large enterprise resource planning (ERP) and electronic data management systems preferred
- Good problem solving skills required
