What are the responsibilities and job description for the Claims Examiner-Property Damage position at Werner Enterprises?
The Property Damage Examiner will proactively manage a claim inventory and effectively negotiate third party transportation liability claims in a self-insured environment. The examiner must possess the skills to interview claimants, gather accident facts, assess liability exposures, and provide resolution of the claim file.
The job functions listed below represent the essential job duties and responsibilities of the above-listed position.
- Manage minor to mid-level claim exposures from inception to completion. The examiner will be required to gather accident facts, determine liability exposure, make appropriate reserve recommendations and directly negotiate claims settlements.
- Develop and continually update a plan of action including maintaining an effective diary to bring the claim to resolution in a timely manner. Manage file inventory by utilizing an effective diary system and documenting claim file activities in accordance with established procedures.
- Communicate directly with 3rd party claimants, independent adjusters, auto appraisers, and attorneys.
- Manage incoming electronic mail requests and frond end claims management requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work in conjunction with and support all administration management, supervisory and staff positions.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
