What are the responsibilities and job description for the Enroute Maintenance Support Specialist position at Werner Enterprises?
Essential Job Functions
- Assign and maintain the correct type, age and number of tractors/trailers assigned to these Fleets as directed by management.
- Audit outgoing bills by verifying and checking information compiled by Billing Clerks. This includes other related information.
- Troubleshoot and answer questions and problems from Billing Clerks and customer related to billings.
- Key daily reports and transfer information into Excel spreadsheet and distribute.
- Monitor Tableau Reports to ensure Fleet Truck health.
- Review Equipment Repair Estimates to ensure all warranties are applied and repairs are in line with known standard repair cost. Ensure all Scheduled Maintenance items are completed in-line with noted Service intervals.
- Review Invoices for prior approval, ensure all approved repairs were completed and in-line with approved estimated cost.
- Assist with Equipment Repair set ups.
- Facilitate communication with personnel in the Van Network, Dedicated, Logistics, Safety, Maintenance, and other necessary departments as to the allocation of trailers and the assignment of drivers to tractors.
- Set up bill to codes in the computer system by using the customer profile information.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
- Timely and regular attendance according to the scheduled shift as determined by supervisory personnel.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Skill in operating a P.C./Windows/Excel.
- Knowledge of transportation terminology usually gained through practical experience.
- Alphanumeric data entry skills of 6,000 to 7,000 kph.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner when dealing with customers and coworkers.
Education and Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent experience.
- Six months to one year transportation experience preferred.
- One to two years data entry experience preferred.
- Six months to one year billing experience preferred.
- Six months to one year PC/Windows experience.
Physical Requirements
- Seeing and hearing: Read documents, computer screen answer phones, communicate in person. 75-100%
