Position Title: Personal Injury Attorney
Location: Coral Gables, FL or Boca Raton, FL
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Personal Injury Attorney to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience handling traditional Florida personal injury cases, including auto accidents, slip and falls, and other negligence-based claims. This position requires first chair trial experience, mediation experience, at least 3 years of practice, and a proven ability to deliver outstanding results for clients. An existing book of business is highly desirable but not required.
This is a full-time, in-office role based in Coral Gables or Boca Raton, Florida, offering the opportunity to work in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in personal injury cases involving auto accidents, premises liability, and other negligence-based claims.
- Conduct comprehensive investigations, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and consulting with expert witnesses.
- Prepare and draft legal documents, such as complaints, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance companies, opposing counsel, and other parties to secure the best outcomes for clients.
- Manage a caseload of active personal injury cases from inception through resolution, including trial.
- Serve as lead counsel in jury trials, managing case presentation, strategy, and courtroom advocacy.
- Handle all aspects of mediation, including preparation, strategy development, and direct representation of clients during mediation sessions.
- Provide clear and consistent communication with clients, keeping them informed about their case progress and options.
- Develop strategies to maximize case value and ensure optimal results for clients.
- Stay updated on Florida personal injury laws and best practices to maintain high-quality legal representation.
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership with the Florida Bar and in good standing.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal injury law, with a focus on Florida cases.
- First chair trial experience, including managing all aspects of jury trials.
- Mediation experience and the ability to effectively represent clients in mediation proceedings.
- Strong knowledge of Florida personal injury law, litigation, and negotiation processes.
- Proven track record of successfully handling and resolving personal injury cases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and work efficiently under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients and provide compassionate, client-focused advocacy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience handling catastrophic injury or wrongful death cases.
- Existing book of business is a plus.
- Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) is a plus.
- Experience mentoring junior attorneys or working with support staff.
