Responsibilities
We are seeking a summer intern for our fall protection Product Development team. This role will support design and development, applying engineering fundamentals you have learned so far while working in a cross functional team. You can expect to be involved in all aspects of the design and development process, from initial brainstorms to concept development and analysis, through development testing and design for manufacture. This role will have the opportunity to design for and work with processes varying from metal fabrication to plastic injection molding to engineered textiles. As an intern at WernerCo you will receive learning experiences and meaningful work that are both challenging and rewarding. WernerCo co-ops obtain technical, leadership and professional development skills that will put them well on their way to building a successful career in engineering
Qualifications
Experience & Education
Eligible students must be currently enrolled in the school year of the assignment and the semester following their assignment. Candidates must be currently enrolled at an accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering program.
- Actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a core engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials and Material Science or other relevant engineering disciplines)
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Candidate must be available to work full-time (40 hours / week)
- Students must be able to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship
- CAD (Solidworks or similar) proficiency preferred
- CNC experience preferred
- Rising juniors or seniors preferred
