Job Summary :
Due to Werres Corporation's rapid growth, we are seeking to hire an experienced Systems Project Engineer with material handling experience for corporate headquarters in Frederick, Maryland. This role will report directly to the VP of Engineering. The primary responsibility of the Systems Project Engineer is to provide engineering support by conducting equipment configuration drawings, pricing and providing computations on point loading, horsepower requirements, and compressed air consumption. Additional duties may include preparation and presentation of documentation to Sub-Contractors. This will require the Project Engineer to work closely with our partners / vendors. The Project Engineer will develop design sketches or drawings for special fabricated equipment (i.e. crossover stiles, tall supports, gap plates) and distribute for vendor quotes. The position will also assist in the development of project documentation required, such as Operation and Maintenance Manuals and Recommended Spare Parts Lists.
Additional duties may include : equipment order entry, drafting, vendor / customer communications support, and job pricing. A Project Engineer may be assigned to manage project duties on smaller, less complex requirements.
The Project Engineer will develop and maintain useful relationships with our partners / vendors and sub-contractors and must remain current with knowledge and training on developments affecting our industry.
Skills and qualifications needed include :
- 5-7 years project engineering experience within the material handling industry
- Strong critical thinking skills with an engineering focus
- High attention to detail
- Self-starter
- MSProject, AutoCAD and excel experience is highly preferred
- MS PowerPoint and Sketchup would be beneficial in this role
- Up to 25% travel is required
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is preferred, however, a combination of education / experience will be accepted.
