What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Demand Planner position at Wesco?
As the Senior Demand Planner, you will serve as the key focal point for Demand Planning processes assigned to the Wesco business unit. You will apply financial, marketing and sales data to effectively analyze and estimate future product requirements on SKUs assigned to critical customers or suppliers. You will plan inventory flow, analyze complex statistical data, and generate forecasting solutions utilizing Blue Yonder Demand and other legacy systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develops strategic Demand forecasts (operational Forecast) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function
- Scrutinizes historical sales trends, researches demand drivers, prepares complex forecast data, develops statistical forecast models and evaluates forecast results on critical SKUs
- Coordinates large cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
- Utilizes a collaborative and consensus approach by working with senior representatives from Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customers and Suppliers to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecast
- Proposes and implements key solutions to improve the Demand Forecast Accuracy by Interacting with SME’s to understand demand forecast drivers
- Conducts monthly forecast maintenance and ensures effective product lifecycle management including DFU rationalization, NPI, Product Supersession and New Customer program set up
- Makes decisions using Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting tool through Statistical forecast reviews and management of demand planning exceptions relating to high impact SKUs
- Communicates forecast and inventory estimations to senior management while monitoring and reporting on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets and business strategies in QBRs
- Creates, prepares and maintains relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree - Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance or related field
- Licenses/Certificates/Designations - Institute for Supply Management (ISM), Blue Yonder (JDA) or other leading Advanced Planning System (APS), American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
- 4 years’ experience working within a demand planning function or Merchandising role with relevant training and/or certifications
- 2 years of experience with Supply Chain Planning applications, Inventory Optimization and/or Network Design (Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, o9, OMP, Oracle, SAP, or other leading Advanced Planning System)
- Strong knowledge of Supply Chain processes, such as SIOP -Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning, Forecasting, Demand and Supply Planning, and Materials Management
- High degree of mathematical and statistical knowledge, able to identify and analyze complex data, evaluate patterns and techniques to develop conclusions and insights used for the decision-making processes
- Exceptional communication and support skills and ability to explain and demonstrate complex concepts and analytics to non-technical audience and translate user requirements into actionable data
- Keen Aptitude for working with both quantitative and qualitative data
- Accomplished multi-tasking skills, ability to prioritize and handle many high value projects at once with ever shifting priorities and deadlines with ability to track and manage progress
- Outstanding in MS Excel, Access, and/or PowerBI or other Business Intelligence (BI) Tools, e.g. Tableau, or Qlik
- Experience with Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems, particularly related to the Demand Planning processes. preferred
- Ability to travel up to 25%
