What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist - Wesley Glen position at Wesley Glen Retirement Community?
Part-Time: Every other Saturday and Sunday 3p-11p. The Front Desk Receptionist will greet all incoming individuals to Wesley Glen either by the phone or at the main desk.
Job Responsibilities:
- Answer the phone within 30 seconds. Resident calls must be answered right away as they dial “0” instead of 911 during an emergency.
- Greet all visitors and direct them accordingly.
- Answer all resident inquires.
- Conduct all page announcements when necessary ( e.g., fire alarms-all clear).
- Direct all incoming calls to the appropriate place and take any message when necessary.
- Respond and report on all in-house pagers when necessary.
- Use of the in-house radios at only appropriate times.
- Monitor and respond to fire alarm system
- Monitor the security cameras.
- Input and display daily menus, activities and special events on the Wesley Glen TV channel.
- Sign out and receive calls from residents signing out for less than 24 hours.
- Provide or assist residents with maintenance and housekeeping orders.
- Collect payments, send out orders and notify residents when outside vendors are providing a service.
- Notify all independent living residents when technicians are present to provide a service (e.g., draw blood, specimens, etc.).
- Update and prepare the log book with all important information such as fire alarms, falls, house calls, system problems, deaths and/or any other important information.
- Prepare copies and type all information requested by departments.
- Distribute paychecks during the allotted times.
Job Requirements:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- A pleasant disposition with residents, families, employees and all external customers.
- Possess basic typing skills.
- Knowledge of copying machines and other office instruments.
- Ability to read, write and understand the English language.
