Maintenance II
Department: Maintenance
FLSA/Classification: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Pay Rate: $16.00 - $22.40/hr DOE
Reports to: Facilities Supervisor
Location: Wesley Willows Campus- Rockford, IL
Summary:
To perform maintenance duties, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and equipment or facility repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
- Perform basic electrical repairs, such as GFI replacement, outlet replacement, switch replacement, and basic troubleshooting.
- Performs basic plumbing repair; repair/replace sink and shower faucets, repair/replace toilets, repair/replace sink drains, and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain and repair heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment; replace filters, Aprilaire elements, thermostats (air and electrical), and air handler belts.
- Perform minor drywall repairs.
- Complete basic carpentry work; fit and replace doors.
- Perform all Maintenance level I functions.
- Maintains a safe and productive work environment.
- Assists with resident relation program; handle all resident concerns promptly. Keep the Director of Facilities and Grounds informed of all resident issues.
- Completes all special assignments/projects as required by the Director of Facilities and Grounds.

Minimum Education/Skills/Experience/Credentials:
- High school graduate or equivalent. Some college or technical preparation is preferred.
- Minimum of five years experience in building maintenance with an emphasis on carpentry, painting, electrical wiring, and plumbing.
- Knowledge of heating and cooling systems.
- Must have the ability to anticipate and/or troubleshoot problems.
- Must have general knowledge of simple equipment used in the building trades.
Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform repairs.
- Ability to stand, crouch, and climb to perform repairs, use ladders, and perform various types of manual labor.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Vision (with correction) sufficient for reading and performing repairs.
Other regulated requirements:
- Must be willing to undergo pre-employment background check, including (MVR) moving vehicle records.
- Must have or be willing to receive the Flu-Shot Vaccine and TB testing.
- Must be willing to undergo pre-employment drug screening, including cannabis.
- Must be willing to undergo biometric screening.
