Job Title: Dining Room Supervisor Job Code: 407

Position Summary
The Dining Room Supervisor will provide lead responsibility of food service servers under the direct supervision of the General Manager. Will supervise and train all food service servers in proper front of the house service techniques and supervise front of the house staff. Will coordinate staff for special functions, receptions, and catered events. Will oversee all meals coming out of kitchen for appropriate appeal and maintain a safe and sanitary working area in accordance with all codes and standards and procedures. Will be responsible for assisting General Manager with point-of-sale activities (register, tickets, etc.)
Key Responsibilities
Supervising Food Service servers and overseeing service, relative to time, style and appearance and presentation for all dining facilities.
Overseeing all special events to include banquets, parties, receptions, special catering, etc.
Overseeing presentation of food, garnishment and temperature test and taste tests and ensuring food and service meets customers satisfaction.
Supervising the cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas and equipment storage in accordance with all safety and sanitation standards and procedures.
Assisting in the employment process of hiring and staffing the servers (in coordination with the GM) and other personnel activities to include employee orientation, performance management, training and development offering and in-service training for servers.
Coordinating services ensuring resident input by establishing a continuing relationship with resident food service committee.
Working with the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the Materials Safety Data records.
Participating in the Quality Improvement function, developing and implementing processes according to facility and corporate standards.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Culinary degree or two (2) year Associate degree in culinary arts required and/or equivalent experience.
Five (5) years of supervisory experience in hotel, institution or a fine dining establishment and must front of the house experience. Knowledge in using an ordering software system such as Horizon is a plus.
Proficient with computers and knowledgeable of food service software and Learning Management System.
Ability to supervise a staff of 10-12 employees.
The ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English.
Normal kitchen conditions in a long-term care or assisted living care facility. Working around high temperatures.
Required to wear uniforms or appropriate dress for dining events.
May supervise outside activities and events.
Position requires prolonged standing, walking, and bending and may require lifting over 50 pounds.
Additional Information
This position will generally work 40 hours per week however the position requires a willingness and
flexibility in working hours when necessary to fulfill job responsibilities including occasional evening or
weekend work. The employee is subject to personnel policies and procedures prescribed
