Wesleyan College invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Mathematics , with teaching duties starting August, 2025. Wesleyan seeks faculty committed to helping students “Find Their Voice” in an interdependent world. Significant preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated excellence in, and enthusiasm for, teaching mathematics to diverse populations of students. We are looking for a passionate teacher who has a specific interest in supporting student success in introductory, service, and general education undergraduate mathematics coursework. Teaching responsibilities will primarily include face-to-face courses that contribute to Wesleyan’s General Education curriculum (eg., College Algebra, Mathematical Reasoning). Qualifications include a Ph.D or MS in Mathematics or Mathematics Education, excellent communication skills and evidence of implementing research-based teaching and learning strategies in undergraduate coursework. Candidates who have experience working with undergraduates using innovative course delivery methods, leveraging real-world applications of mathematics, are highly desired. The teaching load is 21 credit hours on campus per academic year. Research and service in accordance with college guidelines for potential tenure-track faculty members are required for continued appointment and potential promotion and tenure.
