We are currently looking for a Prep Cook to work full-time within our Independent Living community of The Wesleyan. Proven experience working as a prep cook in a restaurant, healthcare, education, or senior living environment along with a deep passion for showing others you care through the meals you prepare will be essential to your success as a Prep Cook at The Wesleyan.

*** The shift schedule for this position is Thursday-Monday from 8AM-4:30PM and Sunday from 7AM-3:00PM ***
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare food items based on production sheets following established quantities and recipes.
- Complete daily production worksheets and waste log sheets.
- Safely operate a variety of kitchen equipment, including but not limited to, oven, industrial mixers, tilt skillets, steam jacket kettles, low- and high-pressure steamers, convection steamers, grills, griddles, buffalo choppers, garbage disposals, knives, deep fryers, portion scales, portion control scoops and spoons.
- Complete orders from steam tables and grills, serving residents at multiple stations in an efficient and friendly manner; resolve resident concerns in a professional and prompt manner.
- Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
- Implement proper food handling and storage.
- Responsible for providing prepared food and meals of the highest quality for service to the residents.
- Responsible to complete other job tasks as assigned by the Executive Chef, Dining Services Director, and/or program Administrator as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A minimum of 1 - 2 years' of experience as a prep cook or line cook are required.
- Ability to use basic math skills to complete required forms and schedules.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- A servant-minded approach to all aspects of the job.
- A passion for working within a senior living community is a plus!
