We are currently looking for a VP of Finance to join our team and work within our Senior Living Communities at The Wesleyan. The VP of Finance will be responsible for providing direction, management, and oversight for the finance and accounting function of the organization that includes accounts payable/receivable, payroll, billing, and audit compliance. Proven experience in accounting preferably in a director of accounting or finance and/or Controller role and within the senior living industry along with strong GAAP, critical thinking, and financial analysis and budgeting skills will be essential to your success as a VP of Finance at The Wesleyan.

Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports.
- Work with the President/CEO and organizational directors, responsible for the development of annual operating and capital budgets for communities and overall organization
- Ensure timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
- Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting.
- Calculate income allocation percentages for Corporate and Development
- Reconciliation of bank statements - General, Disbursement, Payroll, and Foundation and reconciliation of all investment accounts.
- Manage accounting and payroll software including updates, upgrades, modifications, and daily problem solving.
- Manage royalty files (division orders, leases and taxes) and deposit reconciliation
- Oversight of corporate credit card program – enroll new users, set limits, handle declinations, request cards
- Responsible for audit, cost report, budget, Form 990, account reconciliations, online banking and outgoing wires.
- Oversee W2, 1095 and 1099 processing.
- Reconcile prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable and Foundation Fund donations on a monthly basis.
- Manage annual insurance applications – D&O, Auto, and Crime.
- Write accounting policy and procedures – Direct Deposit, Business Purchasing/Corporate Credit Card, Payables, Payroll, etc.
- Ensure auditors’ suggestions for internal controls are followed.
- Process and submit monthly Texas Sales and Use taxes.
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Attends all meetings of the executive staff, and the Board of Directors (and its committees) and prepares periodic as well as special reports for the President.
- Other job duties as assigned by the President/CEO.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, master’s degree preferred; CPA also preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting preferably in a director of accounting/finance and/or Controller role within the senior living and healthcare industry.
- General knowledge and understanding of daily financial issues and processes of retirement, assisted living, nursing home, and home health.
- Strong GAAP, critical thinking, and analysis skills.
- Good awareness and grasp of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements for financial and tax reporting.
- Understanding of Medicaid and Medicare.
- Strong financial analysis and budgeting skills.
- Proven leadership ability with a collaborative approach to working with administrators, department heads, and other leaders within the organization.
- Must have a service-minded approach to all aspects of the job.
