Wespath, recognized as a 2017-2024 Chicago's Best and Brightest Companies to Work For and a 2018-2024 National Best and Brightest Companies to Work For, has an opportunity for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) that plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through the development and execution of comprehensive test plans and automation scripts. This position requires a strong understanding of software development principles, as well as expertise in testing methodologies and tools.

More specifically, as an SDET you will :

Develop and maintain test automation framework that contains tests for functional, integration, performance, and security testing.Execute automated test cases to verify software functionality and performance.Ensure frameworks support maintainability, reusability, and adaptability to evolving project requirements.Develop and maintain different testing stages into CI / CD pipelines.Integrate testing strategies seamlessly into the software development lifecycle.Identify gaps in test coverage and develop quality test code to fill such gaps.Participate in code reviews and identify opportunities to improve earlier in the process.Identify and analyze the root cause of complex bugs in your code as well as others' code.Analyze and report on test results, identify defects, and document issues accurately and efficiently.Design and execute performance and load tests to evaluate software scalability and reliability under various conditions.Collaborate effectively with developers, QA engineers, and Product Owners to ensure alignment on quality goals and priorities based on product requirements.

SDET Compensation and Benefits :

Final compensation will be set based on the hired applicant's qualifications (education, training, and / or experience related to this role), and as such, may fall outside the range shown.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer, Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), or similar Test Automation role.
• Experience with open-source test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Webdriver IO, Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG, Cypress, etc. automating Web Browser User Interfaces and API endpoints.
• Knowledge of defect tracking systems and test case management systems preferably with qTest.
• Experience working with and integrating testing into CI / CD pipelines and software delivery, preferably with Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Proficiency in developing reusable, maintainable, and object-oriented code.
• Ability to show strong programming skills in languages related to Test Automation frameworks such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or C#.
