Chief Human Resources Officer
The Chief Human Resources Officer is a key contributor to the strategic and operational components and vision of the organization and serves as a key contributor aligned with the senior leadership team. This position will provide overall strategic direction and guidance to the Human Resources, Talent Acquisition and Talent Development, Payroll, Benefits and Systems Administration for Harmony Senior Services, Smith Packet and Wessex Capital in accordance with the policies of the management company, the Company Owners, and Federal/State/Local laws and regulations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
General:
- Advises, consults and serves as a member of the senior management team in the development and execution of short-term and long-range plans and programs based on corporate goals, strategic planning and growth objectives.
- Provides overall direction and guidance to the departments of responsibility. Holds daily/weekly meetings with Department Heads to ensure good communications and to keep abreast of departmental updates and changes.
- Build and nurtures relationships with the Company’s Leaders by demonstrating an understanding of business strategies and challenges utilizing progressive and intellectual thinking skills. Works with a variety of teams in support of company initiatives and operations.
- Exemplifies the desired culture, customer service philosophies, and the “Harmony Attitude” for the Organization at all times.
Human Resources:
- Oversees the operations of the Human Resource Department. Supports department initiatives to include the culture, employee engagement, and development of employees. Functions as a primary change agent for the organization.
- Serves as a trusted advisor and business partner to the family of company's senior leaders, functioning as the expert on people and organizational issues and providing guidance on managing complex and sometimes sensitive employee relations matters.
- Translates the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans.
- Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items that may affect the attraction, development and retention of the employees of the organization.
- Evaluates and develops programs to improve Human Resource Operations. Continually assesses the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
- Oversees the maintenance and development of employee benefits programs. Evaluates and analyzes the results of the programs and services on a periodic basis.
- Recommends and assists in the development of policies, procedures and systems to meet company objectives.
- Oversees the company’s payroll department and ADP system.
- Oversees the 401(k) Plan and Company benefit plans as Administrator.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree preferably with (10 ) years progressive work experience in a lead HR position with (3 ) years of strategic management experience; experience in Senior Living highly desired.
- Requires knowledge of Human Resources and Learning and Development principles and practices.
- Requires knowledge of payroll and benefits including administration of the 401(k).
- Ability to perform complex analytics, identify trend analyses and interpret data, driving business recommendations.
- Strong business acumen with a demonstrated record of progressive thinking.
