Job Summary
The Facilities Technician II, General Maintenance, is an intermediate skill level technician position within the Facilities team. This role is responsible for performing a variety of general maintenance tasks to support the operational efficiency of the buildings and property on a private estate. Working under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor, General Maintenance, the Facilities Technician II, General Maintenance handles routine and semi-complex maintenance work, supports preventative maintenance activities, and ensures that all tasks are completed safely and effectively.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform routine property inspections and maintenance tasks (35%)
- Execute general repair and handyman tasks (30%)
- Assist with preventative maintenance activities (15%)
- Collaborate with vendors and contracted service providers (10%)
- Maintain tools, inventory, and work documentation (10%)
Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct daily inspections of assigned facilities to identify maintenance needs and perform basic troubleshooting.
- Execute general repair tasks, including general handyman work
- Complete work orders as assigned through the CMMS platform
- Support exterior cleaning tasks such as windows, decks, and building surfaces
- Assist in monitoring building systems and responding to alerts or irregularities
- Participate in preventative maintenance tasks as defined in protocols or operations manuals
- Assist with the organization and cleanliness of utility areas, tools, and supplies
- Provide support to Facilities Technician III and Supervisor on more complex maintenance projects
- Adhere to and promote health and safety guidelines at all times
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment servicing
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor, General Maintenance
Job Skills & Qualifications
Skills & Abilities
- Solid foundational knowledge of building/property maintenance procedures and protocols
- Proficiency in the use of basic hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for general maintenance tasks
- Ability to read and follow basic technical manuals and work instructions
- Familiarity with CMMS platforms preferred
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to regulations
- Valid Driver's License required
- Certifications in trades or OSHA safety training preferred
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or certifications in relevant trades preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in property or facilities maintenance, with hotel or luxury property experience preferred
Physical Demands & Work Conditions
- Bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, squatting
- Working in confined spaces and at heights using ladders or scaffolds
- Pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including wet, dusty or windy environments
- Exposure to noisy pump-room environments and combustible or hazardous materials (PPE required)
- Operation of UTVs, full size work trucks, trailers and machinery and heavy equipment
