Job Summary
The Irrigation Technician Specialist I supports the Irrigation Team in the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems. This entry-level role focuses on hands-on learning through on-the-job training to develop skills in irrigation system operations, troubleshooting, and repair. The position requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while operating tools and equipment essential to irrigation system maintenance.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems, including irrigation lines, sprinkler heads, control panels, valves, pumps, and related components
- Learn proper techniques for operating power equipment and hand tools used in irrigation work
- Assist with diagnosing and resolving irrigation systems issues through on-the-job training
- Conduct regular checks of the irrigation system to ensure proper operation and timing
- Assist with seasonal maintenance tasks, including system charging, draining, and turning irrigation controllers or timers on and off
- Learn how to assist in the design or modification of new or existing irrigation systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawing related to irrigation layout
- Help maintain an inventory of irrigation parts and supplies
- Operate equipment such as trenching machines, digging tools, and other landscape-related tools
- Assist with irrigation projects and contribute to general landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks as needed
- Support other team members with tasks that enhance the functionality and appearance of outdoor spaces

- Willingness and ability to learn irrigation system designs, installations, and maintenance through hands-on experience

Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two years of landscaping maintenance experience preferred
- Valid driver license required

- Squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending
- Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift
