ROLE
We need a Business Analyst to serve in The Air Force’s (AF) Innovation Branch, AFWERX. AFWERX teams internationally across academia, industry and government to develop technology, expand talent, and transition dual-use capabilities. The AFWERX divisions serve to expand the defense industrial base for advanced technologies, empower Airmen and Guardian talent, and drive faster technology transition to operational capability. Your role as the Business Analyst for AFWERX is to gather and analyze requirements through working with various stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into clear and concise requirements for IT projects and initiatives. Your contributions ensure the efficient operation and success of the division's initiatives and objectives. This is a full-time opportunity. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather information and document processes.
- Analyze existing workflows and identify and document areas for improvement and optimization by streamlining processes, automating tasks, and suggesting and implementing new technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist project managers in planning, executing, and monitoring IT projects by developing project plans, tracking progress, managing risks, and communicating with stakeholders.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform decision-making by creating reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to leadership and other stakeholders.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies to determine their potential value and applicability to the AFWERX mission by attending and / or participating in industry events, reading research papers, and conducting pilot projects.

Other Considerations : applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Individual’s primary workstation is in an office area. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of the time.
