Position: AM Group Lead - Seasonal
Summary:
Directly reports to Assistant Camp Coordinator - Supervise, monitor and interact with campers during daily activities in the morning. The hours of operation are 7:00am to 5:30pm Monday –Friday, excluding a scheduled break for July 4th. We ask that you commit to the entire ten weeks of Summer Action Adventure Camp ( June 16th-August 20th, 2025), as attendance throughout the program is mandatory. In addition, attendance and participation is required at the Independence Day Parade.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 16 years old
- Experience working with youth based programs
- Proactive, positive, self-motivated, dependable, organized and resourceful.
Responsibilities:
- As a representative of the Recreation Department you will uphold and exemplify department policies and guidelines in all aspects of job performance.
- Build positive relationships with children, families and district employees.
- Supervise children ranging in ages from 4K to 5th grade in a variety of settings.
- Monitor and interact with campers during daily activities in the morning with an assigned group or in designated space.
- Encourage and involve children in age appropriate group and/or individual play.
- Communicate with Camp Leadership regarding needed supplies and equipment for the program.
- Maintain a clean and well organized work and program space at all times.
- Model and explain appropriate behavior, address, redirect and report inappropriate behavior that is reported or observed to Camp Leadership.
- Communicate with Camp Leadership regarding any incidents or accidents that may occur, as proper documentation is required for follow up.
- Ensure safety and cleanliness of equipment/facilities and reporting any discrepancies.
- Follow all School District/Recreation Department policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
- Communicate with Camp Leadership regarding any emergency concerns or situations.
- Administers first aid if necessary and reports injuries to Camp Leadership.
- Attend any team meeting or training to increase knowledge and skills.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary by Camp Leadership.
Rate of Pay: $12 per hour: $15:00 with High School Diploma
Hours: 7:00am to 9:30 am
