What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at West Alton Gloor Medical?
As a Full Time Medical Assistant, you will:
- Gather medical information and document it on EMR
- Collect blood, or other laboratory specimens
· Triage patients, assist with evaluations and treatment, and provide information to patients as directed by providers.
· Answer phone calls and address patient inquiries or direct them to the appropriate staff member
- Operates diagnostic equipment
- Take patient to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms with necessary instruments and supplies
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician
- Assists physician during patient examination
- Perform medical administrative support tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, scanning documents and coding for billing purposes
- Coordinate referrals with other healthcare providers and pharmacies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the treatment areas
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be bilingual in Spanish and English
- Full Time position
- Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
- Experience with eClinicalWorks is preferred
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
- Experience in a clinical patient setting is preferred
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Basic computer literacy with intermediate Word, Outlook, Excel and EMR systems
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
- EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
- Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $9.50 - $12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
