West Arbor Eyecare is a new private practice in a growing area built from the ground up to provide the very best and most unique eyecare experience. We firmly believe the best way to take care of our patients is to take care of our employees first.
The optometric technician will be responsible primarily for pretesting patient, entrance testing, assisting the doctor, and other tasks that arise on a day-to-day basis. Customer service skills are a must, along with being hands on with patients and able to use different equipment.
Previous experience is not required but helpful – we will provide extensive and thorough training, not just “throw you to the wolves”. The main thing is that you are teachable and adaptable. Some of the qualities we look for are: exceptional communication skills, is flexible as the office grows, has the ability to multitask, and most of all the passion to be instrumental in helping to lay the foundation for our growing company.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greeting patients
- Pretesting patients using automated, state-of-the-art equipment
- Performing entrance testing on patients including basic ocular muscle and pupil testing, vision testing, and specialized testing
- Reporting findings to doctor
- Staying up to date on trainings
Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8 hours per day
Salary: from $16/hour, going up based on experience and skills
