Job Summary We’re seeking a passionate, dedicated, energetic and outgoing preschool teacher to join our Early Childhood Education Program! If you love spending time outdoors and fostering a lifelong love of learning in children ages 3 to 5, we’d love to hear from you.
Ideal candidates will have experience in Vermont Early Childhood Education Programs (a plus, but not required) and a passion for nurturing the whole child through play and exploration. An educator who creates a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, focusing on their emotional, social, and cognitive development. This role involves implementing engaging curriculum activities that promote learning while ensuring the welfare and safety of all students.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with educational standards and foster a love for learning.
- Provide attentive preschool care, ensuring the physical and emotional needs of each child are met.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage appropriate behavior.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes child welfare.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to discuss children's progress and address any concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and development through standardized testing when applicable.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices
Requirements:
- Experience in preschool or early child education settings in VT is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies and child welfare practices.
- Familiarity with curriculum development tailored for preschool-aged children.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is a plus.

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
