We are looking for a Data Systems Architect who is motivated to design, develop and deliver extensible data solutions as part of an agile engineering team. Ideal candidates possess experience with cloud-native data tooling, including programming languages such as SQL and Python, and platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Microsoft PowerBI. Preferred candidates should be familiar with data modeling, data warehouse, lake house, and data mesh concepts. As a Data Systems Architect at West Bend, you will work within a progressive, modern data architecture and solve problems as part of West Bend’s data-driven strategy.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:- 6 years of experience delivering data solutions in an Agile environment
- Advanced proficiency with solution design concepts in cloud-native data architectures
- Advanced proficiency with Python and SQL programming languages
- Experience with data modeling, data warehouse, data lake, and data mesh concepts; in particular experience with Property & Casualty data models
- Experience with Snowflake, Azure Data Lake Storage, and/or Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with Databricks, Azure Data Factory and/or Snowpark is a plus
- Experience with DevOps or DataOps concepts; including building release pipelines using Powershell, Git, Azure CLI, and/or Snowflake CLI
- Can effectively communicate, influence, and challenge IT peers
- Sees a solution through to its full delivery – facilitates business value achievement, not just individual code
- Shares knowledge, mentors junior team members, advocates best practices
- Experience with Property & Casualty Insurance data, is a plus
- Experience with Insurance Financial data, is a plus
