General Function: The Nurse Practitioner is a skilled health care provider who utilizes clinical judgment in the performance of
comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnoses, and the prescribing of pharmacologic and non pharmacologic treatments in
the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease. The Nurse Practitioner promotes wellness and prevents illness and
injury. The Nurse Practitioner provides care for varied individuals, families, and communities. These functions are performed as allowed under the State of Louisiana Nurse Practice Act.

Educational Requirements:
Prolonged standing and walking. Considerable physical contact with patients.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Educational Requirements:
- Graduate of an Accredited Registered Nursing Program
- Graduate of an Accredited Masters Education Program with a Nurse
- Practitioner focus.
- CPR Certification(required within 30 days of employment)
- ACLS Certification(required within 30 days of employment)
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a registered nurse, preferable in a hospital or physician office setting.
- Maintain license as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Louisiana.
- Proficient in skills associated with position and competent in operation of all equipment and instrumentation used in day-to-day operation of
- the medical clinic.
